Windows 10: Sharing folders between three windows 10 PCs - not working

Hi,

I'm not normally a pessimist but trying to share folders between the PCs is failing completely. Sometimes there is a connection sometimes there isn't. Sometimes folders show up on other computers sometimes they don't. One day it works the next it doesn't. I've been trying to get it working properly for about a month and am not doing very well.

My question is how can I reset all the sharing settings back to what they were before I attempted to share any folders? By now I can't remember what they were originally. Maybe from that I can try again. On the other hand if I can't get it to work how can I switch off all sharing and I will revert to running up and down the stairs with a USB stick?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 shared folders not working

I suggest you to run the shared folders troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Shared Folders troubleshooter.
