    Shell Infrastructure Host Stopped Working and Suspended in Guest Account


    Hi, so I searched everywhere and the answer always same, "Re-install VC redist packages" or doing "sfc /scannow" but particularly both of those method doesn't work. I need to set Guest account with limited privilages, but as soon as I logged in I got error message says "Shell Infrastructure Host has stopped working". In Task Manager, it just showed me in the Details that sihost.exe is suspended. Anyone know how to fix that? Because this is important to my office.

    Background. Gran'pa was lured to upgrade his computer from Win7 to Win10. After that the guest account was not available. I enabled the hidden guest account using "net user Gäst /active:yes" (Gäst is the name of the guest account in my language). Then it
    was possible to login as guest, but the "Shell Infrastructure Host" error made it impossible to use the account.

    Now I have tried step 1-4 of the instructions above and it did not help. The "Shell Infrastructure Host" error remains. From step 5 I have tried restarting the computer, but have not tried using another administrator account. I disabled the old account and
    created a new guest account with a slightly different name.

    I was able to copy files from the old guest account to the new one, so for me, problem is effectively solved.

    Shell infrastructure host has stopped working

    I have tried all the methods suggested but still it does not work. Every time I start up my laptop. The screen is just black for about 15 minutes then the dialogue box will appear and says " The shell infrastructure host has stopped working." This happen
    since I upgrade my windows from 7 to 10. What will I do to make my computer open fast and to get rid of that shell infrastructure host thing?
