    1. What is "transparent icon method"?
    2. How do I accomplish it?
    3. Will it then apply to future URL links I pin to the desktop?

    Hello Rene, *Smile

    You can apply the transparent overlay by using the download in step 2 of OPTION ONE. It will be applied to any existing and new shortcuts.

    Any one of the downloads will undo and repair what was used before though.

    Thank you...and a big round of applause for you...the vexing shortcut arrows are now all gone. I powered down, cold started, and surprise, surprise...they're still gone. So I have immediately made a new Restore Point.

    Many thanks for removing this ongoing irritant. Results should be visible below.

    You would need to also select the uploaded image inside the paperclip menu to attach that image in the post where you cursor is at. *Smile

    I have downloaded the REG file and installed and set up as per instructions.
    All went great.... NO ICON ARROWS.....However!!!!!!!!!! When I right click the start button nothing happens
    This was working before I used the .REG file.
    Please can you help restore this right click?

    Did you just download the .reg in step 2 of OPTION ONE today? It's a newer version that doesn't have that issue, and will fix it from the last version.
