    Should I get 1809?


    Hi people of the world, I got a new HP Pavilion 14-ce0518sa for Christmas (hooray!) and I wondered whether or not I should upgrade to 1809 since my laptop is too good to screw up, so I thought I should ask the community. Seeing the havoc that went on when 1809 was first released I'm hesitant, if it will work fine but Windows update will waste my time, or it will screw up my laptop leaving me stranded? It doesn't have a DVD drive (I've ordered an external one) but I can't be **** to spend a hundred quid for a fresh install. Can anyone lead me the right path? Should I leave 1803 until the next big thing? Should I risk my laptop for 1809? Should I just say "stuff it" and go to Windows 7 or 8.1 and void my warranty? Help me, someone!

    I cannot update my Surface Pro 6 to Windows 10 1809

    I just upgraded my Surface Pro to Windows 10 build 1809.
    Here are the steps I did:

    1. Open your web browser and go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and click "Download tool now".
    2. Double-click on the MediaCreationTool1809.exe file you've downloaded.
    3. Agree the license terms.
    4. Select the "Upgrade this PC now" option and click Next.
    5. Just wait to complete the upgrade process.

    Windows 1809 Started the install on Surface Pro 4 but it stopped and the update screen closed by itself.

    It started the download of 1809 and I walked away. Came back twenty minutes later and the update page was no longer open. Tried update again and it said it's updated.

    It didn't complete the update or state the RESTART NOW.

    Update history lists 1809 and states RESTART REQUIRED but since it didn't complete the install restarting does nothing.

    So it thinks it's installed the 1809 update but it hasn't. It won't download 1809 again.

    ABOUT say's it is 1803.

    Suggestions?
