    Shut down, Start up time slow. Performance faster than Win7.


    Two days back I just upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro build 10240 RTM. I observed that while performance wise Win10 is faster than Win7, it is much slower than Win7 during shut down and start. During shut down it takes at least 5-10 seconds whereas Win7 took 4-5 seconds. During start up it takes 5-7 seconds during the Windows Logo loading screen, 10 seconds to load into the sign up screen and 10 more to load into desktop. Win7 on the other hand took about total 15 seconds for all the above tasks. While I can live with slow boot and shutdown, it is a little bit dissappointing considering MS claims that Win10 would boot faster than Win7 and 8.1 COMBINED*Sad. Do comment.

    Latest Windows 10 update has made desktop unusable

    More than likely this slow shut down was Fast start up gathering information.

    It may shut down faster the next time.
