    Shutdown due to DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE bugcheck 0x0000009f; BUG in HDAudBus?


    I updated my computer to the latest Windows 10 version 2004 on June 4.

    Since then, my computer has twice shutdown, on June 6 and today June 9. Each time, first thing in the morning, I wanted to use my computer but it was dead, so I had to restart it.

    Both shutdowns fortunately generated dump files in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. I have saved both files to another location, and have analyzed them using Windbg.

    There is one commonality between those 2 dump files: Microsoft's HDAudBus.


    Altho the precise failure in each case is slightly different: in the first one it is


    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x9F_3_HDAudBus_IMAGE_pci.sys

    while in the second one it is

    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x9F_3_HDAudBus!HdAudBusUpdateS0IdleSettings


    I would appreciate it if you could confirm my interpretation that HDAudBus is the culprit.


    Second, is there anything that can be done about this?


    Is this a known issue, or do I need to file a bug report with Microsoft?


    Do I need to roll back my latest Windows update ugg...?

  2. Bugcheck 0x0000009F when restart, hibernae, sleep or shutdown

    Hello,

    The problem:

    I got BSOD every time I try to restart, hibernate or sleep my ASUS S56CM notebook. The exact behavior is: when I hibernate -for example-, It takes about 7 to 9 mins to fail and shutdown, the storage led turned off while hibernating which is a real indication
    for me the hibernate process will fail.

    Events

    errors in the event viewer when I reboot:

    • The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000003, 0xffffe00152acd6f0, 0xfffff8039fd21990, 0xffffe00164a5b370). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 101015-45656-01.
    • Windows failed to resume from hibernate with error status 0xC0000001.
    • The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
    • The Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 service failed to start due to the following error:

      The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
    • The previous system shutdown at 12:38:51 PM on ‎10/‎10/‎2015 was unexpected.
    warning:

    • Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. The system administrator should review the list of libraries to ensure they are related to trusted applications. Please visit AppInit DLLs and Secure Boot - Win32 apps for more information.
    • The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\WPD\0000.

    Dumb File

    Drivers (NVIDIA/INTEL graphic) are all updated and latest windows updates are installed. I read through the community and tried many tips/solutions but with no luck. However, I am sure the exact reason for this issue is found in the minidumb file. Here

    I've got BSOD when cold start the computer.

    Computer is DELL Alienware Aurora R8.

    I already open a support case at DELL support.

    All drivers, chipsets and BIOS are up-to-date.

    Windows 10 ver 1909 (18363.693) is up-to-date

    Graphics pilotes are up-to-date too.

    It's always DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE 0x0000009f

    I'va done advanced analyse with Driver Verifier and WinDbg (Windows Debugger).

    The WinDbg report invokes xusb22.sys

    If I correctly understood, when the PC boot with bluetooth enable, it try to connect to the gamepad controller but crash with "A device object has been blocking an Irp for too long a time". No problem when boot with bluetooth disable.

    Driver power state failure IRP Windows 10 "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURES" The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f

    Occasional DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURES after upgrading Win8.1 to Win10 last year:

    2 in January

    1 in February

    1 in March

    3 in the last 24 hours (June 11 & 12)

    I've run "sfc /scannow" 1 time yesterday and 1 time today showing no violations.

    I ran a Win10 repair in April (to fix the Calculator app successfully).

    Here's the latest from Event Viewer:

    The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000003, 0xffffe001161d0060, 0xffffd001ca148ce0, 0xffffe00118e2d010). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 3f5a62fa-2e0d-4b4e-9ef8-3bbbd9faffc6.

    I think param1 = 0x03 means an IRP was blocked too long?
