  1. Shutdown Problem

Okay, I've been experiencing all kinds of problems recently. Driver problems, CPU temp problems.

Anyways, hello everyone. I've been experiencing a problem with my shutdown recently. Usually, an "indicator" that the shutdown is complete is when the keyboard lights (RGB thingy) shuts off along with the power button lights and led lights but recently I've experienced a problem where the keyboard lights shut off but the power button lights, led lights, and fans stay on.

This only happens when I've used the computer for a few hours it seems because when I boot up the computer again: open the same applications prior to the shutdown problem, then proceed to shutting down again - my computer is able to shut down properly and under 1 minute too.

I've tried turning off fast startup and that seems to have made my problem worse because now the keyboard lights doesn't turn off too. I've waited about a few minutes and nothing happens. I've turned off hibernation just a few minutes ago which is apparently one of the "solutions" and so I'll get the results in a few hours.

While waiting, however, does anyone know how to fix this problem in the event that the hibernation off doesn't work? I've seen solutions about doing something to an Intel Driver on Device Manager but I use an AMD CPU so that doesn't exist for me.

The most recent update I've done is a BIOS Update (ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - Firmware - 10.1.2.310)

    My Windows Version is 1809.

The recent tests I've done after turning off the hibernation as well, I managed to shut down the computer after 1 hour, 3 hours, and 7 hours of use. I'll be attempting a few longer hours before calling it okay. Does anyone know what causes this though?

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

PROBLEM WITH W10 SHUTDOWN AFTERR INSTALLING UPDATE

    Hi John,

I understand you are having issues shutting down your pc.

We would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if this solves the problem:

    • Click Start , click Run , type regedit , and then click OK .
    • Expand the following subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    • Right-click Winlogon , point to New , and then click DWORD Value .
    • To name the new entry, type GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue , and then press ENTER.
    • Right-click GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue , and then click Modify .
    • Under Base , click Decimal .
    • In the Value data box, type 60 , and then click OK .
Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

If the Group Policy startup script does not run, increase the value of the GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue registry entry.

    Auto-Kill All Programs at Shutdown

    • Step 1: Go to “Start,” “Run,” and type regedit.
    • Step 2: Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
    • Step 3: Find the Registry Key called AutoEndTasks and right-click then select Modify. Change the value to 1.
