Windows 10: "sign in with a local account instead" is missing

Hello,My local Windows 10 administrator account got linked accidentally to my son's Windows account when he logged into Microsoft store with his Microsoft account, using my local account. Since then I am not able to unlink his MS account from my local account. I am missing "sign in with a local account instead" in Settings > Accounts > Your info. Also when I open just the Settings page, on top of it stays the name and email of my son's account. My intention is not to create a new user with administrator rights, but to change back the principal system "Administration" account (User) back to itself, a local login that is using a "Local Account." This used to be possible by using the now missing
option to "sign in with a local account instead". This is clearly a OS bug.

After logging in with a Microsoft account you can no longer login with your local account and the option to "Sign in with a local account instead" is missing.

Try logging in with .\username

I'm having the same problem after a reinstall of Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. Before reinstalling I linked my local account to my son's Microsoft account to avoid any licence issues.

I would like to log out of his account, but the option to do so is missing. It turns out that his account is a child account. Is that why the option is missing?

Update - I removed his account from the family group at which point the "Sign in with a local account instead" option appeared.
