Windows 10: Sign in with local account instead option is missing under accounts

Hello,I have a Windows 10 Pro computer that the user was setup using the Microsoft AzureAD login. I am wanting to change it to a local account. When I go to accounts the "Sign in with local account instead" option is missing. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would prefer to not have to create a new user as the current user has a lot of data/settings that would need to be moved. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Since the Fall Creators Update, I've spent countless hours trying to find the "Sign in with a local account instead" option on the PC settings, but even now I still can't find it. It was suddenly missing under the 'Your info' tab.

I want to remove the account out of my PC and switch it to a local account because I plan to mark said account for closure/deletion and replace it with another one, but I find myself unable to. I feel like it would have bad consequences on my PC if I kept
it logged in to my Microsoft account, which, like I said, is marked for closure/deletion.

Where is the "Sign in with a local account instead" option? Did it move to another place without our knowledge?

I'm having the same problem after a reinstall of Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. Before reinstalling I linked my local account to my son's Microsoft account to avoid any licence issues.

I would like to log out of his account, but the option to do so is missing. It turns out that his account is a child account. Is that why the option is missing?

Update - I removed his account from the family group at which point the "Sign in with a local account instead" option appeared.

My intention is not to create a new user with administrator rights, but to change back the principal system "Administration" account (User) back to itself, a local login that is using a "Local Account." This used to be possible by using the now missing
option to "sign in with a local account instead". This is clearly a OS bug.
