Windows 10: Signed into Temporary Account on Windows 10

Hi. Please help me.


My laptop was working properly last Wednesday and I was doing the update. Then yesterday when I tried to login I encountered an error. Stop code: System Service Exception. I tried to change the password before I restore it thinking maybe I forgot the password. I know I made a mistake but I need to get all my files and data. I was signed into a temporary account on windows 10. I tried the scan now and the check disk, everything is fine but this. I tried creating or adding a new account but the files & pictures / data are not there. How do I get them back? How to I gain access to that account again. I'm so frustrated right now because all my work files are there and I can't access it. Please help me. I don't know if this is a security & privacy issue or a sign-in issue.

Hello,

If you verified that the account is temporary, kindly restart your PC and sign in again. This should remove the temporary account and your files and settings should be available again.

Notes:

• You might need to restart your PC more than once before you can see your files and settings again.
• You should back up everything you worked on to an external drive, or it will be deleted when you sign out of the temporary account.

If that didn't help, we suggest performing the suggestion posted by Vijay B in this
thread and see if it makes any difference.

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
