I don't know how many times I have been asked how to change the size of the desktop Icons in Win 8.1/10. The following trick is easier than any other method. Period.

Hold down the CONTROL button and use the mouse wheel to scroll up/down and you will notice your icons change sizes How nice eh...It's been around for a long time. No mouse wheel? Revert to other methods *Smile

  2. Desktop Icon Font Change

I installed Windows ten a few days ago and when I check for updates there are none listed so I believe I am up to date. My issue is is specifically with the desktop and the font being used under each desktop icon. I would like to find a way of using
a different font for the purpose of identifying these icons. I used to be able to change the font as well as the size in Windows 7. I have found a way to change the size in W 10 but still have not been able to change the actual font used.

  3. Desktop icon size

    hi

The desktop icons always revert to Medium size when restarting my laptop, I change the size to Small icons every time I start by right clicking the mouse from the desktop but they always change to Medium size when I next start the laptop.

Other ways? How about Ctrl plus the -/_ or +/= key? Also works with macOS Sierra and older Mac OS X and with most versions of Linux. On the Mac systems it's the Command key, equivalent to Control.

    What make/model??? Aircraft ID: N944LA

Hi. Yeah I am mostly a Linux/BSD user. Linux since ~ 1997 and FreeBSD in 1999.

As far as the 'n944la', that's from the first aircraft I took lessons in back in 87 in High School. It's still registered to Luminair (@ the Aurora, IL airport). It's a Cessna 172 (non-HP/complex model).

Currently I hold a Commercial license with a 135 endorsement which allows me to transport cargo, US Mail, Human Organs and charge 'X' many people for flight expenses. I don't use it parse though very much. I fly for fun 75% of the time. I just got it for kicks. I obtained the 250 hours and did the usual to get that certification. I also got my Seaplane rating @ (what used to be) Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Lake Michigan on the far north side of Chicago/Evenston. So I am MELS rated/certified. I currently have ~ 15,000 hours (not including work hours) and have been flying since 1987....so the math works out to 30 years of flying time...I am 47...geez....I'm freaking getting old...WTH. LOL

I also got my A&P (FAA) and Avionics Technician certification (FAA/FCC) and some other certifications so I can check/align/calibrate RADAR, GPS, NDB, etc. etc. type systems.

I currently fly a number of aircraft (both for test/check out purposes & private use). The aircraft I personally fly are a Cessna 'Bird Dog' Vietnam era Skymaster II push-pull (sweet & responsive) and a Mooney M20V Acclaim Ultra (my baby). I am single, so it makes things a tad easier. I live on a private airport in NC Illinois (WoodLake Landing or Sandwich Airport) in Sandwich, IL (yes that's a town name...lol). ICAO - IS65. When I am not flying for real [and not working] I use Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D V4 for simming.

Here's the Mooney cockpit. I opted for the gray/black package...the brown is grey in mine. It's nice, very fast (twin turbo charged w/ 1 - 3 blade (VP). What's cool about it, is that it's like getting into a car. The layout is very much like a car...as you can see. Two doors and a center small console for drinks heh. The option I am working on is incorporating a 3rd party HUD kit and (if it's reasonable) a center mounted control stick (like that of an F-16) - either in addition to the yoke or with the ability to remove the yoke 'on the fly' so to speak and use the side stick. Goofy/overkill? Perhaps yeah, but cool.

I think I am going to make a new signature/logo to promote flying.
