Windows 10: Skype broken with Exception code: 0xc000027b

For a good month now, every attempt to open skype ends with Skype vanishing, and the event viewer entry of:

I followed the https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_store-winpc/windows-store-crashes-with-exception-code/11cc9422-165f-4cf7-9525-2153d7e54de9 article on this error and had to reset the Skype app (which unfortunately probably deleted all my chat history too) as suggested in https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4027498/microsoft-store-fix-problems-with-apps .

(The troubleshooter was not able to do more than suggest the reset.)


I noticed Skype was no longer installed after being reset, so I tried to install it, and now I get error "Code: 0x80073D05" from the store.

I followed the standard procedures in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/apps_windows_10-winapps-appscat_games/error-code-0x80073d05-on-windows-10/a37b67c0-bde9-40e5-b785-ebfc635eccd2 and got:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

for sfc /scannow

and

for the powershell command "Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}", I got:

After this, I tried to reinstall Skype again, but it still failed with Code: 0x80073D05. What do I do now?

Facebook app crashing, Exception code: 0xc000027b

Ditto. All steps suggested here I've tried. App still crashes.
