Windows 10: Skype for Business and Multi-Factor Authentication with DUO

We are looking to incorporate DUO (already own it for VPN Multi-Factor Authentication) into an Office 365 2016 tenancy for our MFA needs. We have tested the built in MFA and would like to avoid using the 'app password' with Skype for Business. We have spun up a test O365 tenancy and have DUO working successfully with O365, Outlook heavy client and OWA. Skype for Business does not work as it appears (via Wireshark) to run right out to Microsoft.

Modern Authentication is enabled and confirmed (via Powershell).

We have verifed that DNS is correct including CNAME and SRV records. We have also used the online MS connector test page and it confirms it as well.

DUO has pushed us to MS, and I have opened a ticket.

Anyone out there seen this?

Multi-factor authentication on Windows 10

I am interested in knowing if it is possible to integrate a Windows 10 laptop/desktop with a second factor authentication (OTP) like inwebo or Duo after the domain authentication.

Hi Varunn,

Yes there are ways for the multifactor authentication being set. This will require some working on the domain controller. Here is a link of a way Microsoft suggest multifactor authentication:

You can also use the Windows Bitlocker tool to encrypt the disk and since you enter a fixed password it's basically multifactor authentication. One password to decrypt the disk and then the password for the domain.

Microsoft Account set to use 2 Factor Authentication & Authentication Phone App but it doesn't prompt for authentication when signing in to my Windows 10 PC locally or remotely (via RDP).
