  1. Sleep(1) in windows 10 doesn't working for exactly 1 millisecond it takes 2 millisecond

    #include <thread>
    #include <cassert>

    int main()
    {
    for (int i = 0; i != 1000; ++i) {
    auto start = std::chrono::steady_clock::now();
    std::this_thread::sleep_for(std::chrono::milliseconds(1));
    auto slept = std::chrono::steady_clock::now() - start;
    assert(slept >= std::chrono::milliseconds(1));
    }
    }

  2. Millisecond Precision

    I am trying to find a file manager that displays millisecond-level precision for audio files. I have a file manager called XYplorerinstalled; but, it displays the
    incorrect length for a file that I have. The length is 26 hours, 19 minutes, and 54 seconds. But, in XYplorer's tooltip, the length is charted at “1:28:36.282.” I am guessing that is 1 hour, 28 minutes, 36 seconds, and 282 milliseconds. Does someone know of
    a file manager which will display the correct length with millisecond-level precision. I found that I did not have the latest version of XYplorer. But, even after updating it, it displays the length in quotation marks earlier in this post.

  3. Millisecond Precision

    I have an application that converts text to speech. I then import the newly created audio files into a music tracker called

    OpenMPT
    . OpenMPT's play time is based on milli- (or, as is displayed in the Play time dialog, centi-) seconds. Each pattern of a module is generally 0.12 seconds (12 centiseconds or 120 milliseconds) × the size of (number of rows contained within) the pattern. Because
    I am targeting a specific length (12,343 patterns), I have calculated the exact length threshold (both high and low) required. But, without millisecond precision, I cannot determine if my audio sample is, mainly, short, enough. I did find a solution. I found
    a file manager called
    Total Commander
    which, with the aid of a plugin, displays day- (and possibly, but probably not, finer) and millisecond-level precision. Incidentally, by using this, I found that the audio sample was too long.

    Millisecond Precision

    OK, well I will say one thing, a 26 hour single file seems a bit off kilter if it is possible to make it shorter. But maybe you are doing a book or speech and it is that long, hope someone has a lot of coffee.
