Windows 10: SLEEP settings

This may be of some help for those experiencing problems with SLEEP settings.


While I do not have Microsoft Teams installed, the Update Microsoft Teams App was installed together with other Office 365 Apps. I think that this was when I started having problems with the Sleep settings. The monitor would not go to sleep as per the settings and neither would the PC.


The Update App would automatically start every time that I logged on and I simply closed it. When I signed out or did not do anything at all for 10 minutes after which the monitor should have gone to sleep, the sleep settings did not work as expected.


I eventually worked out that when I disabled the Microsoft Teams Update in the Startup list of Apps, the sleep settings worked as they used to. So, it looks like the Update App is added to the Startup list which is something that I was not aware when the other Apps were installed.

Sleep

Hi,

This may happen due to its power plan. A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. For this, we suggest that you reset and restore power plans to its default. kindly follow these steps:

• Open the Command Prompt (Admin).
• Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press
  Enter:
  • powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
• Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your PC to apply the changes.

After that, go to Power & sleep settings
by typing it into the Windows Search. Check the When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after
settings is set to Never.

Display will not sleep.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Click on Start>Settings>System.
• In the left navigation pane, click on Power & sleep.
• In the right pane, select the time limit for the system to go to sleep from the drop down list.
