Windows 10: Slider for battery performance is missing

Hi,


The slider for my laptops performance in the battery section on the taskbar is missing and I don't know how to get it back. Is there a way to fix that?

1903 - Broke On Battery Brightness Adjustment (missing sliders)

Got 1903 installed and now missing both of those sliders

I can still adjust brightness for Plugged In mode in the notifications menu and general brightness menu, but there is no way to set it for the Battery mode, when the notebook is unplugged.

Worked fine with 1809 and 17XX (with registry hack as it used to have brightness stuck all the way up).

Any way around it? I heard there is a reg hack that can be used.
Using older Mobile Intel 4 series express Chipset family driver from Microsoft corp WDDM 1.1.

thanks for the reply. display and high contrast have nothing related to the brightness settings for battery mode. Nigh light is a different animal all together. Basically this panel was the only place to adjust it...
Also when creating a custom profile it's the same - both sliders are still missing. Looks like a drivers issue of some kind, but considering it's MS's own driver that is in use, it's even more strange.

Yes that's the problem. I can adjust the slider to 60 for instance (eg. in the action centre) and it becomes the same for both modes. So when I unplug the power cord - the brightness stays the same. Before 1809 I could adjust either mod separately via these two sliders that are now missing. In other words, I can't adjust the brightness for the battery mode at all anymore and there are no remaining sliders related to it in any of the settings.

 

Fall Creators Update: Missing power mode slider in the taskbar

Hello Mark,

If you have a missing battery slider after the Fall Creators Update, it’s likely because you are using the High Performance power plan. Although it shouldn’t work like that, but it seems that if the high performance plan is enabled, the battery slider disappears.
The fix in this case is simple; select the Balanced power plan and the slider will come back.
