Windows 10: slow cold boot (sometimes)

Ok, have a Sabertooth x79/3930k and an Intel 750ssd 1.2tb.

Sometimes on a cold boot it will take say 15 seconds to load to desktop and sometimes over double that 30 seconds or so. Also it warm boots consistently in the 30 second range.

Any help to understand the cold boot issue would be greatly appreciated.

Slow startup after Windows 10 Threshold 2 update

Ah, you don't have Avira, fair enough. My restarts & cold boots are also intermittant - sometimes fast 15 sec boot, sometimes slow 45 sec boot. Symptoms seem the same as yours, one thing for sure that we have in common is this only started happening
since the big Threshold 2 Windows Update.

 

BSOD's and system freezing

Don't you think it's strange it almost only happens on cold boots? When the system is running, it only BSOD's sometimes, does happen though..

There is no obvious explanation issue is now less prevalent following upgrading to Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 and selecting to update apps manually.
