Windows 10: Slow download speeds

Hi all,


So I'm having a problem with my brand new Huawei Matebook X Pro which could be a total deal breaker. The highest download speed I can get for anything is 500kb/s - 1mb/s. This is the case both on the university server as well as at home. Downloading from Google Drive as well as PtP. On my old XPS 13 I was getting a good 3-4mb/s. Anyone have any ideas? I tried resetting the home modem, but that's obviously not the issue because I have the same problem at the university. I also tried restarting the machine, and again no fix. Please help me if you can, or I'm going to have return the computer I've already fallen in love with.

Slow Download Speed

• I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
• I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.
  
• You may plug in the Ethernet cable if available and check the speed.

Microsoft store download speeds and windows 10 app load speeds are very slow

• The latest update I have showing is "2018-02 Cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based system KB4074588"
• I've tried all the below steps suggested by Eeshwar Kumar in this link: Why is Windows Store's download speed so slow?
• And also all by Jane La in the below: Microsoft Store Very Low Download Speeds
