  1. Slow performance for no reason

I've had some troubles with my computer lately. It started working very slowly one day for no reason this past week, and I haven't been able to fix it since.

In the end I simply tried a clean install of W10, but even then it kept being slow.

After that I tried a clean install again, but this time being disconnected from the internet to avoid anything getting installed by windows in the background. And while it works better, the games keep running at low FPS.

    https://ibb.co/M6p3LDT

This screenshot is an example, it shows the stats at the upper left corner. I get an average of 70-100 fps in that game, when before I got stable 250 FPS. The FPS's are high enough to be playable, however they are unstable which means I get FPS drops which do become a problem.

Not to mention I play VR games, and VR is unplayable unless you have stable FPS, which I don't at the moment.

I tried everything, and I still don't know what the hell is wrong with my computer. My CPU and GPU don't seem to work at full potential for some reason, and so far nothing I've done has worked to fix it. Obviously it's not a virus/malware as this is a clean installation of w10. I dbout it's hardware related, but at this point I wouldn't discard anything.

The problem came back before I reactivated windows updates, so I don't think it's a windows update issue. Could this be my motherboard dying or something like that? I literally have no other idea why this might be happening, and it's very annoying.

Any help is welcome. I'll keep trying to fix this myself somehow in the meantime, I'll post with the answer if by some chance I figure it out.
