Windows 10: Smart charging and the surface app

My Surface Laptop Studio is currently on 'smart charge' that is the battery is at 80%. I need to charge it to 100% I know that you are supposed to be able to pause smart charging in the surface app but the option does not appear - it used to last time looked about a week ago I suppose whne I paused it to charge to 100% but to day it's gone. See the screen shot. Any suggestions?

I suggest you to follow all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in
Surface battery won’t charge or Surface won’t run on battery and see if this helps.

Surface pro 6 does not charge beyond 68%

Hi everyone,

For the last 6 months or so, I have noticed that y Surface Pro 6 (with Windows 10 Enterprise) is not charging beyond 68%. Its says 'plugged in' but does not charge the battery. It also gets very hot, feels like the battery is resisting
the charge or something. The fan is also turned on.

I have performed the following actions:

• Removed the Microsoft ACPI battery and reinstalled it
• Changed the surface charger to a colleagues' one

Both did not help.

Can anyone suggest a solution?
