  1. SNAP assist, multi tasking tool not working

I used to be able to drag a document/app to the left or right of the screen and it would snap into place alongside my other app. However now I get a green edge to the desktop screen and a large green number one in the middle of the screen and it won't allow me to snap anything - just keeps returning it to the middle full screen. None of the previous questions around this have solved my problem. Is it something to do with the green edging when using SNAP and the number one on my desktop? Help, this is a regular feature I really want to get back to be able to use.

    :)

    Snap Assist

    Hi Cory,

The Snap Assist allows you to juggle apps, arrange open windows, resize windows by simply dragging and dropping them to the edges of the screen. If you don't want to get a quarter screen snap, you can change the settings of Snap Assist by follow the steps below:

    • Open the Settings app
    • Click System.
    • Click Multitasking.
    • You can turn off some of the option of Snap Assist on this window.

If you want to disable Snap Assist, you can turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

Customize Task View, Alt-Tab and Snap Assist

Would you like smaller, XP style thumbnails and be able to see whats on the desktop while in Task View?
Check out this exhaustive list of registry tweaks: [Windows 10 Tip] Registry Tweaks to Customize UI of Alt+Tab, Task View and Snap Assistant Screens - AskVG

Follow instructions carefully, but, not to worry, if you wish to undo the tweaks, simply delete the items you created and all will fall back to defaults.
Affects are immediate so no need to reboot or restart Explorer.

    Tested in AU and higher.

SNAP assist, multi tasking tool not working

Snap Assist no longer working (W10)

I am having problems with Snap Assist. Specifically, since a few days it does not seem to be working any more:

    * If I press any of the related keyboard shortcuts (Win+Up and so on) nothing happens.

    * If I manually drag a window towards a corner, there is no automatic snap, the window just keeps going out of the edge.

    * I have checked the "snap" buttons of the system/multi-tasking page and they are all on. I have tried to turn them off and then back on, but there is no difference I could measure either way.

I have a clean install of W10 with all drivers up to date. At this point, I have run out of ideas on how to solve this problem.
