Snap to window is buggy for multiple monitors

I have 5 monitors arranged thus:

    1 2

    345

If that doesn't come out right it's 3 along and 2 up, with the top middle one missing there's a stereo there.

Snapping to windows works perfectly apart from one application which I want to run across the right two monitors 2 and 5, as it's a long table and needs the height. Almost every time I try to arrange it, it decides to jump to the bottom monitor only without maximising, half of it is off the bottom of the screen, or does something else odd. The application is Boinctasks, and I just thought of trying something else, Opera browser, and that works ok. Why is Windows treating Boinctasks differently? It also moves it when one of the monitors is turned off - eg when unlocking the computer, one monitor which is actually a TV doesn't automatically wake up, I have to press the power button, which confuses Windows further as the number of active screens changes. Another oddity is after a recent update it started behaving, then after the next update it broke again. So whatever is causing it was adjusted twice in the updates.

I hope there's a solution to this, as currently I have to keep turning snap off to arrange it, then turn it back on, as I like to use it to move maximised applications between monitors. And I'm blaming Windows not Boinctasks, since turning snap off makes it behave just fine.

Is there any way to change the parameters of what it does over and above the settings in the control panel which I've already fiddled with?

    :)

  2. Cursor snapping to display edges, btween two monitors

Hi Vincekiss I would suggest you to try configuring multiple monitors and check if the issue is fixed.

Refer to the following Microsoft Help article to configure multiple monitors. The steps for Windows 8/Windows 8.1 applies to Windows 10 as well.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/how-connect-multiple-monitors

Another way to fix is to go into settings, system, multitasking and disable snap... However this disables it completely.

  3. Aero snapping betwen multiple monitors

Hello my name is Bradford, and I'm an Independent Advisor for the Microsoft Community, and I'll help you with Aero not snapping correctly.

For Aero to work correctly the "physical layout of your monitors within Windows" needs to be adjusted.

Please see the tutorial included on the page at the link below:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/21084-multi...

If the problem or questions still exists after following the above steps, please let me know.

  4. Snap to window is buggy for multiple monitors

    Aero snapping betwen multiple monitors

I have read multiple threads about this issue and it looks like Microsoft could not care less about Windows 10 users. These said threads are as old as 2015 and the issue is still not fixed.

Long story short, I am using Windows Areo Snapping feature but when I want to move any window to my second monitor, Areo snap thinks I want to snap the window to the side of my first monitor. A simple fix as ''hold window for one second to snap'' instead
of having the users to drag the windows with their mouse as fast as possible to snap. You guys know it's not a hardware issue or software updates. This problem exists only in Windows 10. This problem is the tool itself.

And before you try to direct me on how to disable it, that is not what I need. I want to snap my windows and use the feature, but it's outraging that I have to move the mouse as fast as possible while dragging a window between my dual monitors. I am an advanced
user and currently a programming student and even I know it should be an easy fix. So I ask you, in 2019, Microsoft, fix it!
