Windows 10: So did anyone get spring creators update?

Discus and support So did anyone get spring creators update? in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; well if that's not an ignorant approach. rolling out to systems and devices they know aren't likely to have problems first .... Think of the lawsuits... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Support' started by Redbatman, Apr 1, 2018.

Think of the lawsuits if they knowingly targeted 'problem' PCs in the first phase....

Rumor is that rollout begins on 4/10. Which makes sense since that will be a patch Tuesday.

  3. Has there ever been a version of Windows that has gone through as many upgrades (formerly called service packs) as has Win 10?
    Win 7 had one.
Win XP had two, I think.
But this upcoming rev of Win 10 will be the fourth, right?
So I wonder why people are referring to it as "stable"? It's the most unstable Windows of all!

The whole purpose of these rollouts is to remove features that are not used by the masses, enhance the GUI to be better with the newer OLED monitors and projectors, so that in 4K, the display will be a lot crisper. If anything breaks, it was not compatible with windows to begin with and was being held together with spit and bailing wire.

Pro for 10 has seen it downgraded to where some Administrative features were removed during FCU. Windows 7 is way far behind the curve of how far 10 has come.

  6. This is a very intelligent approach. MS has already all or most data they need (this is what the insider programme is for). Staging the updates gives MS time to address issues that occur on some devices/hardware(and software) combinations.

XP had 3 official Service Packs and numerous unofficial ones. There are unofficial (of course) update packs even for Win98. For W7 you can still get semi-official packs incorporating all the official and unofficial updates in KB format.

Maybe it's due to the fact that Microsoft has changed it's update model, The new model states that windows 10 will be the last ever windows but will have a rolling upgrade program, currently set at twice yearly.

Unlike XPired, which was out of date technically before most companies even thought of using it Windows 10 is designed to evolve with hardware changes Even after the third Service pack XPired was incapable of supporting the cutting edge of hardware, It was actually only really usable for any serious work after SP2

No maybe, MS did change update model, it's not even remotely same as Service Packs, it's more like whole new OS every 6 month which gives them more flexibility. Most OF SPs for older systems were just a roll-up of all updates/fixes in preceding period with very little new if any.
Although many wouldn't think so from an old geezer, i'm pretty fond of this new model and new stuff it brings, in fact so fond of it that I'm right on cutting edge with Skippy builds.

According to Brink it will be out April 18th. I guess that's a rumor too. It would be funny if they released in on friday... the 13th, next week.

The rollout will begin April 10th.

We are not here to hear people complain about getting the new update, or how it broke someone`s computer, etc.

Let`s kill this thread right now. *Smile

  15. Ok, corrected. So Win 10 NOT more unstable than XP. It's now just EQUALLY so. It won't be MORE unstable until the fall release. *Smile
