Windows 10: So Very Disappointed With Win 10

I love this kind of stuff..........what is this based on? Facts or belief?
I loved Windows 7 felt at the time it was the best OS Microsoft ever created based on feel and facts
Windows 10 feel is better than 8 and 8.1 but the facts are proving its better for modern systems than 7 ( modern in the past 3 years)

 

I know many systems have a partition these days with a recovery for original OS, that has failed on me since windows 8, my wifes lenovo was a nightmare because we had the win 10 preview on it, only way I could get hers back so we could get the free 10 was to wipe it and reinstall a copy of 8 activate it and then it was verified for 10 and I upgraded

 

I was successful with full recovery in 8.1.......and shut off 'windows update' immediately there after....never had one problem. 8 months later, now 3 weeks ago, I downloaded and installed the 'new' Windows 10. So far everything works 100%. But.....I see now with 10, I no longer have the option to shut off updates, even if I wanted to do so. I did find a way in to see updates installed, but no other means to manipulate it. With no Windows 8.1 or 10 greeting, or departure sounds...like XP, 2000, 98,95 did have, the 8.1 and 10 experience seems less personable and without human character. If Windows 10 becomes problematic, (knock-on wood it doesn't) A big Macintosh Apple might taste sweet.....I miss XP.

 

I am sorry that some of the members here tried to hijack your thread. I also am sorry and have concern for your problems. If you have a windows.old or a $Windows-WS or a $Windows-BT then you have the ability to return to your old OS. I lost mine due to an error on my part. I guess the only way to go back now would be a Clean install of Windows 7 until the 29th. I will not do that and you probably will not either.

Definitely not as you always have the backup image you made of your old OS.

 

The Rollback option is the only way I know of to go back from within Windows 10 once you've done the upgrade. https://www.tenforums.com/installatio...in10-win7.html It uses the Windows.old to do it. I've done it once to go back to 10240 from 10525. It wasn't perfect and I still ended up doing a Reset to fix a few glitches.

I could have very easily if I did not delete the Windows 7 Image I had, But what is done is done. You can always go back until after the 29th if you want to perform a clean install. Not many will do that , I won't. Windows 10 is running fine for me , there are just a few concerns I have with it, not with it's performance though.

 

Looking into 10 before I installed it, I read someone claiming a 'one way direction' indicating one cannot wipe 10. This is all new for everybody and everybody has an opinion...Yes?

 

You have 30 days from July 29, 2015 to go back. After that MS wipes out those Windows .old and the other ones as well. But you can still do a clean install of Windows 7 until the EOD on the 29th.
