Windows 10: Solution!!! no sound windows 10 on Mac

hi all, i know this may not be relevant to a lot of people but i just want to show you a solution to getting your sound working on a late 2009 duocore apple running high sierra and installing windows 10 through boot camp.

basically, the problem is the sound drivers installed by windows.

the solution is simple:

download this driver "Cirrus Logic CS4206A AB 79"

just copy and past into browser and find the site that has it.

when you are updating driver in device manager, choose option "have disk" find your location and update it.

restart your computer and you will have sound.

this has been a two day journey of searching and experimenting; this was finally the solution and it works like a charm

No sound on MAC running Windows 10

I installed Windows 10 on my new MAC and it is running great. Problem is I have not sound. There are 2 drivers listed under sound in device manager. I updated both. I made sure the volume is turned up and it is. Any suggestions? Does it have anything to
do with Boot Camp? Thanks.

Hey Dan,

Thanks for installing Windows 10. Check Software update in the Mac App Store, there were some Boot Camp updates released recently. (based on info I found on the apple forum). Hope this helps. Helped one other user on the apple forum with your same symptom.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
