Thank you for that but this services are already activated and run.

I did NEVER had any network trouble or mapped computer vanishing with build 10240.

At this time, I can NOT see all 3 other laptop connected... My 3 PC are not mapped and I can NOT access to them in any way including Printer this is VERY annoying.

SHAME to MS and this SCRAP new Build

  3. Sure. Winver shows it's OS Build 10586.3 and VER in the CMD window shows 10.0.10586. I don't know how to copy my update history, but on 11-13 & 15-15 an Intel driver installed for Wireless BT as well as 50 or so Office updates which included updates to Social Connector, Service Pack 2, Security updates as well as general office updates.

    Hope this helps.

I totally understand. I have never had this issue before myself. It sounds like yours is a bit worse than what I experienced, but here's my process when working on a network issue. Maybe you've performed these steps, but I'm adding them just in case you'd like them.

1 - collect information from each PC and device and write it down, workgroup/domain name, ip addresses, subnets, gateway and dns servers, if anything is on dhcp, who is providing and at what IP address (multiple routers sometimes end up providing overlapping ip's), what protocols are installed on each pc's nic, and is the PC on a public, private, or work network, is the (Windows) firewall enabled. I also turn off ANY antivirus or secondary firewalls (double check to make sure they've stayed off, this includes any perimeter firewalls if used, note that in a corporate environment or where using something like a sonicwall appliance I do not turn this off unless I'm at my last resort). Once I've gathered all this information I check for inconsistencies between the different pc's and make any corrections. For example: For simplicity, ensure all pc's are on the same type network and network file sharing is enabled (you can make each type do what you want, but this is easier). Ensure ip addresses are in the correct range and gateways/dns servers are correct.

2 - just for grins I turn everything off, everything, then turn back on starting with any router or modem, then whatever is providing dhcp if used (if it isn't the router or modem), then turn on the pc's. Check for any changes to the problem.

3 - starting with one PC, make sure I can hit the Internet by visiting a page I am sure isn't cached (further diagnostics needed if this isn't possible, try pinging all other pc's using computer names (sometimes pinging is filtered by Windows firewall so if you can't ping, make sure it isn't filtered. If you can't ping at this point, it's beyond what I have time to write here at the moment.

i have to head to work, but hopefully this is helpful in some way.

On my Windows 10 Build 10586.3, My PC sees both my wife's PC and my PC. However I can't access the folders on my wife's PC.

I've set up Homegroups on my wife's PC but mine says there is no other Homegroup available.

On my wife's PC I can see mine but can't access it. Homegroups is enabled on her PC but mine doesn't show on her PC.

Solved: Can't see other computers in Workgroup on Windows 10

Did you make sure your network is set to private? From my understanding both pc's will need to be set to private. Then once you set up a homegroup on one pc, the other pc will need to join that network. I believe if you have a homegroup set up on each individual pc, neither will be able to share with the other.
I don't use homegroups so I'm just going on a little bit of data I read.
I do believe (in win10 pro) you can also still right click on "this pc", select properties, then under "computer name, domain name, and workgroup settings, select "change settings". From there select the "change" button next to "to rename this computer or...", select the "workgroup" radio button and enter a workgroup name you want to use. Do this on each pc and you should be good to go.

All run fine before I install the last build W10 1511 the problem come from this last build...

I have an other laptop with build 10240 and it see ALL my computers in my network (2 laptop W10 TH2, 1 laptop w10 build 10240 and my old Windows XP PC !!!)

The laptop upgraded with last windows 10 1511 build see ONLY the other laptop with last build 1511 so I have only two mapped, two 1511build but this two 1511 build DO NOT SEE the other laptop w10 and the other with windows XP with Printer !!!!!!!

I still have this issue. One with my insider builds from 10166 to 10586. This machine can see the Computers that are online but, my NAS and 2 networked drives it cannot see.
On my main machine, this one, I have 10240 RTM and there is no issue with this at all and, I have added 10240 RTM to 3 other machines and they do not do this either.
I believe that the ONLY way to have this fixed is for MS to do it? Whatever they did to the network discovery or a protocol, they NEED to fix it.

Ok, I've switched off my wife's PC and managed to set up the Workgroup folder on mine. In networks however two folders in my onedrive folder showup. They are labelled Important 1 and Important 2. They contain music and documents. It seems Build 10586.3 trawls the hard drives and adds folders containing documents , pictures etc. to the network. Strange behaviour.

EDIT: As soon as I started up my wife's PC it broke the Homegroup on my PC.

Solved: Can't see other computers in Workgroup on Windows 10

    Guys,

10586 broke my network of 9 computers as well...There is a Name Resolving problem right now...
If you are using upper case and lower case for your computer names and or shares rename them'
so they have all the same case Upper or Lower...I was able to fix my network issues on all except
one PC that is on a Wifi link (I can see that one still from a Windows 7 PC)...

This may help some...May not fix all issues depending on your installation.

(don't forget to reboot PC and Router).

Have 3 Win 10 Laptops just upgraded to Threshold 2.

    • Laptop 1 (which is a Win 10 Upgrade from Windows 8.1) can see both the other laptops in the Workgroup network and access them both.

    • Laptop 2 and Laptop 3 (which are Win 10 Upgrade from Windows 7) showing zippo on File Explorer for the Network.

I've been trying all sorts of tweaks and settings all day and still no luck.

Another interesting observation. I forget what setting change it was, but on that one also appeared on ALL 3 my Samsung Smart TV which is on the Network. However, the Samsung is now not showing, which isn't a big deal, but strange that appeared and then dissappeared since.

Considering the amount of tweaks I've done all day I would have expected to get a positive fix by now, so I'm leaning towards this is a BUG in the Threshold upgrade seeing that a lot of other users are having the same issue and when combined with all the users having tried lots of tweaking also, someone should have found the fix.

Seems likely also then that the bug is related to being dependent if you upgraded to Win 10 from Win 8.1 or Win 7, since my Win 8.1 is seeing everything and both the Win 7's are not.
