SOLVED (critical process died) BSOD / freezes and crashes

This problem has been going on for months, but it has gotten serious lately. Originally I would get computer lock up/freezes when watching youtube. So I installed a chrome plugin that views video in flash rather then html 5. That fixed the problem, but in a few weeks I started to get crashes when playing video games. They would happen 5-10 mins in and maybe once every 1-2 days. Then yesterday afternoon I started to get blue screens and other errors just by browsing or doing almost nothing and after 1-2 hours of that I had issues starting up. Sometimes I would have to restart 5 times just to get started with it locking up on the loading screen or just resetting due to a blue screen.

So finally that got me off my ass to do something about it. I tested the ram with mem86 and it passed with 0 errors. Then I got a second spare hard drive and installed windows on it and the computer crashed with a blue screen within 1 minute. After a restart I managed to download the DM log collecter and after a few more restarts and crashed I managed to get it to finish and move the file onto a USB drive before shortly after crashing agian.

Ill try to get the DM log collecter running on the original OS, but its difficult with the crashes and what not. If I get it to run then ill upload the file.

    So in short
Problems: Lock ups/freezes, crashes, BSOD (critical process died, stop code: system service exception, and many more different errors)
    Mem86: Pass
New hard drive/installation of windows DID NOT help
    Specs:
    CPU: amd 9590
    GPU: 290x
    RAM: 16gb
    MB: M5A99FX PRO R2.0

    ***UPDATE ON SOLUTION***
If you have a 9590fx cpu, this will solve your problems.

For the blue screens, the sata cable was the problem. A new sata cable solved the BSOD. This was determined by running linux mint through usb and after 2 days of non stop running the system crashed. On bootup a error screen popped up.

However the freezes where occurring due to 2 issues.
1: Cooling (fixed through applying better thermal paste, and make sure you have 240mm liquid cooling or better)
2: CPU BIOS settings. The following post lists settings you need to disable and voltages you need to set to. The default BIOS settings are not accurate.

Help To Overclock FX 9590 To 5Ghz Stable.

And finally big thanks to Essenbe for guiding me through all this. Ive been having these problems for years now and no one else was able to help, including a couple of computer repair places (one of them claimed it was a virus problem and wanted to charge me for installing a free anti virus program which didnt fix anything...)

    :)

  2. Cannot find/create dumps to upload for crash support

Yes, I am still crashing. Most often ends on bsod: critical process died. If not that, then on a red screen that is followed by shutdown.

    Thanks again!

  3. Computer stuck in reboot loop after BSOD error 'Critical Process Died'

My computer just started displaying the "Critical Process Died" BSOD. It is a HP Pavilion which previously ran Windows 7, but has been updated to Windows 10. It has been running fine, and just recently the desktop and taskbar started freezing up. I restarted
it, but it stuck on the "Restarting" screen, and never restarted. I ended up doing a hard reboot. When I turned it on, the BSOD was being displayed, but the percentage never made any progress after hours of waiting. Any way to fix this?

Code: BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 2501, 4/7/2014[/quote] Mmm....I don't see your current BiOS listed on that page.

Lets leave that for now, and try something different.

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours, or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier:
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

Driver Verifier will cause your computer to run very sluggishly - this is normal. What it is trying to do is force your system to BSOD and isolate the offending driver/s. When it does, reboot, disable driver verifier, reboot as normal and upload the new dmp file/s here.

What USB devices are used by the system? There are indications of a potential problem with that.

I managed to get the DX collector running on the original OS and attached the file to this post. Ive also tried updating the bios to the latest version but it still crashes. As for USB devices I have a mouse, keyboard, and headset. If you think it can be the problem then I can try removing them one by one to see if they are the problem. Otherwise Ill try the driver verifier but in the meanwhile could you check the new zip.

What do you mean original OS? You mean before you reinstalled Windows 10?

Leave all the USB devices plugged in when you run Driver Verifier.

By original OS I mean the first/original hard drive. I then got another hard drive and installed a new copy of windows on it. The new windows is the first DM log. The first/original windows is the second DM log.

As for driver verifier I managed to go into command prompt and open it to view its logs however doing anything else results in a crash (opening edge/etc). What should I do next, I see a list of drivers in the driver verifier.

Just run your computer as normal after Driver Verifier has been enabled, as explained in the tutorial. If you get a BSOD during that time, upload it here.

Done, uploaded to this message. Sorry it took a while, had to restart it about 20 times to be able to get it into safe mode (which it doesnt crash)
It seems to be getting worse and happening more earlier in the boot cycle. Similar to the first/original hard drive

rowow, could you please go to control panel and Post a screenshot of all software you have installed/ Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Ten Forums

Control Panel (Icon View) > Uninstall a program In the top right corner of the screen selecting 'List View' may help.

Is your Windows update working? Try going to settings > Update and Security > Update History and see what updates you have installed.

Windows updates cant work if the system crashes on start or shorty after start.
