Windows 10: Solved: HP ENVY 5540 Not Printing in Color on PCs With Windows 10

Several months ago, after a MS Win 10 update, my HP ENVY 5540 All-In-One Printer stopped printing in color.

Finally, a solution that works.The window for this feature is back, and myHP ENVY 5540 now prints in color or black and white.

This may work for other printers, but I won't guarantee it.


I pieced the solution together after reading several recommendations from both customers and tech moderators.

Too simple, really!


FIX FOR HP ENVY 5540 All-In-One COLOR PRINTING

Go to DEVICE MANAGER / PRINTERS /


Right click on the HP Envy 5540 icon and selectUpdate Driver.


Select Browse my computer for driver software.


Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.


Select Microsoft IPP Class Driver.


Click on Next.


When printing a document, select Printer Properties, and you should now get a window that gives you the option to slect Black & White, or Color printing.

Problem with HP ENVY 5540

My HP ENVY 5540 will not print color documents from my computer. It will print a scanned document in color, but not one that is sent to it via my laptop. I am running Windows 10. When I first purchased it 2 years ago it worked fine but will not do so
at this time. I checked settings and it appears that the settings are correct. Suggestions?

 

HP Envy 5540 wont print color

I have an HP Envy 5540 All In One and it has stopped printing color. I have tried remove and add the device. It will print one item in color and reverts back to B/W. I did the power cycle. No fix I downloaded newest install package and drivers.
Reinstalled the printer. Didn't fix. Checked my settings......those are ok (grayscale not being used) I have powered PC and printer both. Didn't fix. I am running out of ideas.

Any help appreciated.
