  1. Some Redirected folders not synching to our local server

    Hello All,

The screenshot below is from one of our users PC. Redirection folders are setup. Some of his folder/files won't sync. The ones that don't sync are get a gray X stamped on them. When trying to open them, an error message comes up saying he may not have permission, when in fact, he does.

All the settings (permissions) look the same for the folders that are working (synching), as well as the ones that are not (not synching).

No other user has reported this type of issue, though only a few are set up with redirection folders.

OS: Windows 10 pro 64 bits

    Thank you for your help!

    Windows 10 Folder Redirection

    Hi Rick,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I'd suggest you to refer this article on
Folder Redirection, Offline Files, and Roaming User Profiles overview
and check the new and changed functionality. However, as this issue is related to server, I'd suggest you to post your query in

    TechNet Forums
, where we have support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge on servers to handle this issue for you.

  3. Windows 10 Folder Redirection

    All,

I have a client that previously had Folder Redirection turned on with Group Policy (without the setting to return files to Local once removed). The server they were redirected to no longer exists. When I look at the PCs I can see that Documents and Desktop
settings for the Location still point to the non-existent server share. Basically all of their Desktop and Documents are being kept in the Offline Files Cache. I have created a new share on a new server for Folder Redirection. When I applied this to the effected
Users, nothing changed. How do I get the Win 10 PCs to dump the old Server\Share location setting and return the Offline Files Cache to the Local Profile? I'm fine with even doing one at a time through the Registry if need be.

    Thanks,

    Rick

  4. Some Redirected folders not synching to our local server

Remote access to my (local) server's folders

I am running a simple local fileserver. Windows based.

I would like to access (load, save, modify) what's on this server when I am away on business trips. Laptop -- internet -- router - server

What is the best way to do this? Setup WebDAV or ftp-server or something else? I would prefer direct access, ie. being able to load/save from an application rather than using ftp as a separate step.
