Windows 10: Something feel where the Hard disk is, crashed windows, now it runs worse than ever.

As the title said, something fell where the Hard disk is and after that the pc crashed while it displayed a loud sound and I had to shut it off. After I turned it on again everything run way worse, everything constantly freezing (it crashes the most when its booting up, like every 20 seconds it freezes for like 5-20 seconds) and crashing (even windows explorer crashes if I click the screen 2-3 times when it is frozen), it also I think that its also hotter underneath. Other things that happen is that I cant open Excel, it says something related to an error 0xc0000142 and using the sfc /scannow command is kinda slow.

I want to know what I could possible do other than getting it fixed in a tech store.

Computer keeps crashing and now there is worse...

Hi Catra,

Since you have already tried the Repair computer option and it has not worked. Reinstalling the OS would be the next option, however before you go ahead and try that I suggest that you use the old recovery disk that you have, access the command prompt and
run a Check disk.

This will help to check if the HDD has any corruption that maybe the cause for the computer to not work.

Access the command prompt and type:

• chkdsk /r
• Press Enter

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Remove spare hard disk as system disk

There's a possibility that your HDD was detected as OS drive during the Windows installation. To remove your HDD as system disk, we suggest reformatting it. To do so, please follow the steps below:

• Open Disk Management.
• Right-click on your HDD, then select Format.
• On the Format windows, type your preferred Volume label,
  File system (NTFS is recommended), Allocation unit size (leave as Default).
• Check the Perform a quick format option, then click
  OK.

Note: Please back up your files before reformatting the drive.
