Windows 10: Something unexpected went wrong with this URL

Hyperlinks i try to open from within Outlook 2013 give this message:
"Something unexpected went wrong with this URL"
Even Bing desktop search fails to open results to default browser.

Windows 10 64bit with latest Fall update.

- Are you using Facebook app or trying to access through browser?
I normally receive facebook notifications in my OUTLOOK – and just used to open the email/notification and then open and brows the post -
I am unable to do that since I upgraded from Windows 7 to windows 10!

- If you are trying to access through browser, which browser are you using?
I am however ABLE to access facebook through Google search engine

- Do you receive any error message? N/A

- Did you check with different browser? N/A

This is the message that now appears when trying to open facebook when I receive an email/notification in my OUTLOOK

"something unexpected went wrong with the URL - invalid value of registry"

This is the same message when I try activated an add placed on Gumtree which I need to do in OUTLOOK:

Whys is this happening???????

- When you say Outlook, are you referring to Office Outlook or Outlook.com?

Start => Settings => Apps => Default Apps => scroll to bottom "Set defaults by app" Click on your browser, click on Manage.

Is your default browser set as the default for the file types?

For links in Outlook any chance they are considered junk by Outlook?
