  2. pin setup goes wrong and skipping this step does not work.

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

I understand you're having trouble with setting up a Hello Pin on your new laptop. This seems like a frustrating issue, but let's try to troubleshoot it together.

Firstly, make sure your device is connected to the Internet. The Hello Pin setup process requires a functioning Internet connection to communicate with Microsoft's servers.

    Secondly, try the following steps:

    1. Press the "Windows" key + "I" to open settings.
    2. Go to "Accounts" and then to "Sign-in options".
    3. In the "Windows Hello Pin" section, click on "I forgot my PIN".
    4. Follow the instructions to set up a new PIN.
If the above steps don't work, you can try to remove your Microsoft account and then add it again:

    1. Press the "Windows" key + "I" to open settings.
    2. Go to "Accounts" and then to "Your accounts".
    3. Select the account that's causing trouble and click on "Remove".
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. After the restart, go back to the "Your accounts" section and click on "Add an account".
    6. Follow the instructions to add your Microsoft account again and try to set up the Hello Pin.

    Best regards

  3. Something went wrong. Pin setup

I have had my laptop for 2 weeks when suddenly i can nolonger access windows. When I turn on my laptop, it shows the only account I have setup. When I click "sign in" it opens a Microsoft account window asking to sign in to my account. I enter my email and click "next". I then enter my password and click "sign in". It then says "create a pin". This has all been normal start up since I got the laptop. I have yet to setup a pin so I have always clicked "skip for now" but suddenly now when I click the only option"next" it says "something went wrong. We weren't able to set up your pin. You can try again, or skip this step and set up a pin later. I have the option to click "skip for now" or "retry". "Retry" just continuously brings up the same message. Or "skip" sends me back to the login screen to sign into Microsoft account again. I don't think its a sign in problem because if I go into my Microsoft account on a different device it shows successful logins for every time I try on the laptop. Please help!

Windows Hello PIN Something went wrong. we weren't able to set up your pin.

Surface book2; I got this message "Windows Hello PIN Something went wrong. we weren't able to set up your pin. You can try again, or skip this step and set up PIN later" since 2 years ago until now. I looked through all the suggested like NGC file, DISM command, gpedit.msc, and more. I really don't want to reinstall everything because it will cause more problem and time.

    please fix this problem.
