  1. Somewhat temperamental wifi

    So having updated my Qualcomm drivers to fix my non existent chance of connecting to my WiFi I am not that impressed with the fix, out of 50 attempts of connecting to it only three were successful, and only one resulted with (slow) access to the internet.
    What is interesting is that it will instantaneously connect to BT WiFi with Fon (an open network in most places in the UK). Any ideas on how to make it practical to connect to it?

    :)

    The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

    double post (sorry) but another good way is to sort it by FSB, so that people can look to the top of the list to see the best OC'er in each category.

    possibly sort it out by core type as well?

    Kentsfield (B-3 stepping)
    Kentsfield (g0 stepping)
    Conroe
    Conroe 1333 FSB (e6x50 line)
    Allendale (2M 800FSB)

    its an idea, but the list is somewhat short at the moment so it may be pointless til it gets bigger.

    Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

    In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

    1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
    2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.

    After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

    P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
    Really hard to see any logic in this case.
