Oh... Well anyway since then I've pressed the button to clear the cmos and the computer kept resetting still with 4 sticks in, when I took 2 out then it let me clear the cmos. Same resetting afterwords (resets after the debug led shows D3 (which I assumed was 03 but since there isn't 0 in the manual so I'm not sure...) which says "Some of the Architectural Protocols are not available."). There are beta drivers for a bios update for increased memory compatibility from 2013, but @bios doesn't seem to show beta drivers, the bios exe once unpacked that was downloaded from the site doesn't seem to run (maybe due to windows 10). Also I'm unsure whether it is actually wise to use a beta bios.

At this point I'm not sure what to do, maybe post in a memory forum to see if there are any ideas there. I could live with just using 8GB if I can't get them to work together, though of course it would kind of suck not being able to use what I paid for. I'm currently using my replacement ram to see if it's stable in actual use.

There are quite some parts of the forum where you could create a new thread at for that problem, but I'm unsure which of them is the best.

Ok, well thanks for your help *Smile. I might try that issue on one of 2 other sites I've been to with a RAM section.

I figured that it was worth updating that I thought I'd try out 2 things:

    1) My ram channels were _1 and _3, and _2 and _4 and didn't realise they were actually adjacent rather than being actual slot numbers which is why I thought I originally put my ram in the wrong slots when I didn't and swapped it over. Anyway I changed the slots so that each channel held its own set of ram.
    2) I moved my gpu to the first slot to see how things would go and as a last hope to see if my pc would boot up with all 4 sticks. There was occassional issues that baffled me when testing my ram when this happened, but the ram were also in wrong channels.

Now it boots up fine so appears to be sorted. Not sure I want to swap the ram sticks over again to see which option resolved the issue, but thought that maybe this information could be of help to someone if they used google or just giving knowledge of diagnosing issues.
