Windows 10: Sonos / Bose / Squeezebox and Tunein - beware

Just a notice of things to come if you've got these sorts of Internet Radio streaming systems using TUNEIN.

Apparently Tunein is now demanding Radio stations PAY so you'll find some now are off the TUNEIN list - for example if you like the VRT KLARA classical stream. You can still access these on a computer manually but finding ways to push the streams to things like Sonos could be more and more tricky as people these days are getting so greedy and want to monetise to the last half a cent.

Here's a bit more info (some of it I'm afraid is in Flemish but it essentially says that these stations are removed because they refuse to pay tunein.

So if you buy these sorts of things based on access to Internet Radio - beware as this whole scene looks set for a horrible change.

I hope this is not the thin end of the wedge here as Internet Radio is really popular.

if you are having problems logging into the Nokia Music website, try logging in at
http://account.nokia.com and choosing the Nokia music service from there.

Not sure about Sonos, you will have to ask them about that, as this is a user to user forum only for Nokia products and services.

 

Hi everybody

Work around is fine but you need to logon to the WEB interface (in the case of Squeezebox type of things / also SONOS.

LMS though can run on your NAS if you are running LINUX as well as on Windows.

Then add directly the stream URL (not the website url) to your Favourites

In this case I want to listen to VRT KLARA (classical music station in Brussels)

AAC streams work as well.





Don't need greedy TUNEIN anymore --hope they GO BUST.
