  1. Sony Bravia TV no longer recognized by windows 10

My Sony Bravia was perfectly being recognized by windows 10 until I disconnected the Sony Bravia from the pcs hdmi input. Upon reconnecting the Sony into the pc all of a sudden windows 10 stopped recognizing the Sony tv. The display doesn’t show up anymore. I tried a different hdmi cable and checked that all was connected where it should.

Is this maybe a driver issue? I have a gtx1080 but the Sony isn’t connected to it but maybe I need to update the gtx? I’m wondering why all of a sudden windows stopped recognizing this display. It’s baffling. I’m assuming it’s that the driver somehow got uninstalled and doesn’t want to install again.

Any ideas or recommendations is appreciated!

    Thanks guys

Sony Bravia TV on my network

Why is there always a Sony Bravia TV on my network under displays? I don't have one. I've changed my Wi-Fi password, even stopped broadcasting ssid but it keeps popping up. I don't own a Bravia, what's going on?

Windows 10 ASUS Q400A laptop does not connect to Sony Bravia HD TV

Since I installed Windows 10 Professional 64 bit on this computer, I had been able to cast to my TV.

However, I recently installed an SSD to replace the original HDD, using Samsung's cloning program to copy the disk contents over to the new SSD. Since then, I am not longer able to cast to the external device (i.e., my SONY BRAVIA KDL 48W600B HD TV). When
I click on Connect in the Action Center, and click on the device, Windows tries to connect but returns a "Cannot Connect" message.

I performed the following troubleshooting steps, some of which I got from other discussions:

    • I checked the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. It was disabled. I changed it to start automatically and clicked on Start. I restarted the computer and checked again - the service was now running, but I still cannot cast to the device.
    • I tried to cast form my Windows 10 Lumia 640 phone to the same TV. I was able to do so, so the problem is not in the TV.
    • I went into Device Manager, clicked on the Display Driver (Intel HD 4000), and asked it to install the latest driver. It downloaded and installed the driver, but I still cannot cast to the TV.
    • I checked for Windows 10 updates - none are available.
    • I checked the TV Connection settings. My laptop is listed with Permission set to "Accept". My phone is also listed with the same Permission (see 2 above).
Any suggestion will be welcome. The laptop is connected to my home network via a Verizon FIOS Wi-fi connection. Remember that prior to installing the SSD drive, I was able to cast to the device with no problems.

Note that although the posting identifies me as an Insider, I no longer participate in this program, and the version of Windows 10 on this computer is the production version, with all upodates installed.
