Windows 10: Sound and Mic

Hi,


My sound isn't working along with my mic, when I plug in my mic I have an option to select what it is but it is never picked up when I check 'Sound Control Panel' but with y headphones it isn't even picked up as a device at all. I've tried updating drivers and I've followed all of the steps in the sound support, my headphones and mic work with my xbox and my phone and my laptop but not with my pc. What can I do?

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

This might occur when some of the mic setting got corrupted.

I would suggest you to try running Recording audio troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Select Recording Audio under
  Sound and follow the on screen.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
