Okay, a part of the crackling is solved.
"cmudaxp.sys" created some huge DPC spikes therfore I simply deactivated the soundcard and a part of the crackling is gone now.
I checked the latency with the Windows Performance Tool again, now there's still the usbport.sys which is causing DPC-spikes.

Now...how can i resolve this issue? Because usbport.sys is a file made the operating system, i obviously can't uninstall it.

Hi, in the attachment I posted, you will see this:
PC Lagging very much usually when i make high network traffic
For me it was BitDefender's port scanning protection feature, once I'd disabled that problems were gone.Try this: open BitDefender, go to Modules (in the bottom) > Firewall and there disable Block port scans in the network and restart LatencyMon to see if it worked, changes should be immediate.

    Problem with compressed memory process
USBPort.sys was the top offender in the LatencyMon report
I can confirm that Bitdefender Total Security 2016 is the culprit causing this problem on my system. After disabling the Firewall the CPU load went down immediately.

This may give you a clue.. but it may be sthg else in your case.
    Try disabling your firewall?

This is useful (note- Win 7, same issue)
Usbport.sys causes high DPC over time. - Page 2 - Windows 7 Help Forums
    - discusses interrupts, mentions WLAN (sometimes implicated)...

Here's a list of some of things you might consider trying people have found have helped:
    - Remove Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) - used for SSDs
    - Use high performance power plan (but -> higher CPU power consumption, clock faster)
    - Update BIOS
    - Update Intel MBO drivers
    - Change Wifi router beacon polling interval to 100ms (can be 1-1000ms). >100 causes stutter.
(So sending the signal LESS frequently causes stutter...)
"It is not strictly necessary to have a beacon if the user knows the name of the AP.

A lower interval means faster detection of the AP, but at the cost of increased use of the airtime. In general, leave it at the default, or turn it off if you don't need it."

What doesn't help:Clean install, windows updatesNot apparently related to:
    AMD vs Intel processor
particular sound cards (although commonly reported with ASUS Xonar)

May be related to particular LAN cards

Okay, it seems that I first installed the wrong driver for my soundcard which caused some issues. Installed the right one, now i can use it without problems.
But there are still crackles which don't have anything to do with the soundcard (tested with and without soundcard).

    - Deactivating the Firewall didn't help (also I don't use BitDefender, I use GData), didn't find any settings that you described (they probably don't exist)
    - I don't have an Intel Storage Technology Driver, therefore i can't remove it (i got a SSD with Samsung Drivers)
    - BIOS is already updated (see first post)
    - no Intel Mainboard here (atleast if that means Intel MBO?), mine is from ASRock
    - already tested with switched off WiFi router, did not help (also never had really problems with it)

Ok, run another check for latency and see what it points to.

The point about motherboard drivers applies- there are many drivers related to that, and maybe an update check will help.
But bear in mind Windows will quickly replace them unless you protect them (see Tutorial section for a tutorial on how to hide Winows updates).

Okay, should I try to install those updates?
I did hide the Windows Updates now.

The graphs look like this now.

Hi, the top one appears to be this:
Driver Description: C-Media Audio Interface Driver (WDM) by C-Media
ASUS Xonar DG Audio Interface driver
    HTO CLARO Audio Interface Driver

And if you search generally for crackle/stutter/pop Xonar you do get a lot of results... I know you said you'd disabled the sound card.

You can by all means try the motherboard drivers.. I would also suggest it's worth researching people with Xonar sound cards.

It may be that some ASUS configurations are prone to this problem with Win 10..

Mh...the thing is, i bought the soundcard BECAUSE of the soundproblems, it thought a soundcard would fix the problem (problem exists also without soundcard).
I'll try the motherboard drivers now.

Try a scan with Drivermax (2 free drivers a day).. (driver scanners are not generally recommended, only use for particular reasons).

You could also try an older driver for the sound card.

Make sure your NIC driver is disabled for test purposes, just to eliminate that for now.
You can also try a high performance power plan for test purposes.

I made an account just to thank you man! I've been having this issue for the last month that started randomly. I've been trying drivers on and off and was considering a format. The bitdefender issue thing really fixed the problem for me. Thanks a lot!

Great! It's nice when the solution's easy.. not always so as Win10 seems to introduce a range of new issues.

Tried everything, meanwhile my mainboard and my graphics card died, i had to replace them both (now GTX460 + old ASRock Z77 PRO3).
    Sound crackling is still there.

    Hello random internet stranger,

I literally just made this account to personally thank you. Basically, I have tried all the big anti-viruses: McAfee, Norton, Kapersky, and now Bitdefender. All with their pros and cons. Kapersky was actually really nice, not sure why I didn't just renew that, so I decided to try Bitdefender. Then, as soon as I installed it, the video and audio crackle/stutter began. Tried a bunch of things from other forums, but your advice to "disable Block port scans in the network" fixed it! It was only a few days of watching videos in agony, but I was going crazy. Thank you so so much. Everything is crisp and smooth again. I just want you to know that you made my day, heck my year. Guess you don't realize how important smooth video and audio is, or how often I watch videos, until it is suffering from stutters, popping, and crackling. Sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to thank you for your knowledge and insight, and saving me from calling tech support. You rock!!!

  15. Folks, the problem appeared yesterday on my computer, and I solved it this morning.

Go to Device Manager. The first choice is your audio equipment. Open that. Somehow, some way, my default audio device was headphones, which I have never used on this machine. I made the speakers the default device, and the problem disappeared.
