Windows 10: Sound not in taskbar

There used to be a sound option in my taskbar like everyone remembers, but I had recently installed X-Split and that is the last time I remember seeing it there.



I have been on the forums and Google looking for answers but everything I find tells me to go to the settings and hit enable all. This was already checked off but even trying to select indivdual tasks it's not there.



Any help restoring the option would be wonderful, volume is stuck at 37% and can't change it so I've had to use my neighbor's DJ equipment just to watch netflix at something I can hear.

I went one setting down to Turn system icons on/off and sound is greyed out can't adjust that.

start menu, taskbar and sound do not work in Windows 10 after Windows 8.1 upgrade

I followed your advice and I was able to fix the problem temporary for 2 weeks. 2 weeks everything was ok but yesterday problem with start menu and toolber
reappeared. The start menu was openable but some functionalities did not work e.g. settings, Option on the lower right corner of toolbar such as sound, battery were not working properly. The option did not work with the left click and sound suddenly diapered and
I was not able to fix the sound problem. I restarted my laptop and this solved the issue. I have never experienced these problems wit 8.1 and I deeply regret the upgrade. I think it is too late to go back to Windows 8.1. I do not know are you working on these
issues and when they can be solved. Releasing such a **** as Windows 10 you should give users more time to get back to the previous versions. Please let me know how I can get back to Windows 8.1 I do not have time and knowledge to try to solve this problem
by myself especially that highly paid specialists from Microsoft are not able to do it either.

I am using Windows 10.

I have been using this tutorial to restore the Volume icon back to the system tray (taskbar ).
Yes, it was written for Win 7 and 8, but it is also applicable to Win 10, as I said I had used it myself to restore both Volume and Network icons.

Go to Option Two > step #9 > click the Download button > then follow step #11 to #15.
Make sure you do reboot.

P.S. There is a similar tutorial in Windows 10 Tutorials, but I find the one I just posted equally effective.
