Windows 10: sound problem (only "edge" and "movies & tv" can play sound)

Discus and support sound problem (only "edge" and "movies & tv" can play sound) in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; new laptop here, first thing was installing firefox, and there is no sound (while microsoft edge can play sounds). than installed chrome, no sound, gom...     sound problem (only "edge" and "movies & tv" can play sound)


    new laptop here, first thing was installing firefox, and there is no sound (while microsoft edge can play sounds). than installed chrome, no sound, gom player, no sound, winamp, can't even play the file. movies and tv app can play video with sound.


    on firefox, if you play a video (youtube, vimeo etc.) it runs without sound, if you play audio (bandcamp, soundcloud etc) it not plays at all, play button activates but bar is not moving.


    i tried to reinstall the driver but still same.


    windows 10 pro, all updated. laptop is asus x571 (Asus X571GD-AL143)

    Sorround sound in "Movies & TV" Application

    This post was not helpful there is a serious issue with the sound in the new "Movies and TV" app there is no sound while sound works for every other program. My boyfriend who is very familiar with OS's including taking OS classes and doing some MS development
    went through all of these steps but still the video we paid for will not play sound. Note MS Groove witch is also a new win 10 app plays sound fine.

    Movies & TV - MKV no sound

    Hi All,

    I recently upgrade my VOYO minipc (based on Intel Z3735F hardware) from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

    Everything was fine, absolutely no issues with upgrade.

    just one question. I tried to play MKV videos from Movies & TV metro app.

    Video is fine but no sound.

    Digging into sound settings I can see that there is no sound on the output interface.

    The VOYO has an HDMI output only and it is connected directly to a LED TV.

    Same video plays well with any other player.

    Sound is working fine on the system, I had this issues just with the Movies & TV apps.

    On another PC the same application is working fine (different hardware)
