    sound problems after computer sleep


    so i have my pc connected to tv using HDMI cable, so sound goes through this cable and uses nVIDIA audio driver as the hdmi calbe is connected to my nvidia gpu. when the computer wakes up from sleep, it automatically changes to realtek driver although there are no speakers that are connected, and also the nvidia driver disappears from the drivers options. the solution to fix it is either restart or if i start the "troubleshoot sound problems", then suddenly the nvidia driver comes back and i can choose it and sound goes back. there was a time i could also just click "device properties" on the realtek driver and suddenly the nvidia driver would come back, but that doesn't seem to work lately.

    is there anyway where i won't need to do this and the nvidia driver would automatically work after wakeup from sleep? thanks.

    Sound Quality

    One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

    May not be a speaker problem.
