Windows 10: Speech App cant run after Edge upgrade but Recognition works in apps

This is driving me nuts.

After the latest Windows Upgrade my Speech App will not run with the message that the Recognizer language and the Display language must be the same.

I found that the update had modified my Recognizer language to EN-US so I modified it back to English UK. This IS the Display and System Language. The Speech Recognition works fine in Word etc and starts up in-app if I use Win-H and Cortana works fine. But the Windows Speech App will not work.

I am guessing that this is deep in the registry somewhere because the Language and Regoin Settings are all UK and so is the Recogniser. I am logged on with a Microsoft account and as it is a single PC there is no Group Policy applied as such.

Anyone know where I need to go.

All the Google searches would indicate the Windows Settings page causing the error but I can't see it.

I would suggest you to follow the steps to see Advance speech options.

• Press Windows+X key on the keyboard
• Click on control panel
• Select speech recognition
• On the left hand pane you will see Advance speech option
