Speed of Macrium backup using rescue media vs Macrium in win 10?

I have done macrium reflect full backup in my windows 10 and it requires many hours to complete. Has anyone done a comparision of how much faster would it be if you do a macrium reflect full backup (whole windows 10 system and data) by using a rescue media vs doing a macrium reflect full backup by macrium software installed inside windows 10?
Macrium support told me the speed will be about the same even if I use macrium rescue media to do the full backup.

Any other faster macrium reflect full backup suggestion?

A few years ago I was using acronis and it is much faster when doing a full backup using acronis rescue media vs using acronis inside windows 10. Maybe Macrium works differently.

    Thanks

    I asked macrium reflect support
"May I know can I do a macrium reflect full backup by using a boot up cd? Will doing a macrium reflect full backup by using a boot up cd be much faster than doing a macrium reflect full backup inside windows 10? How to do a macrium boot cd? I used to do my acronis full backup using a acronis boot up disk and it is much faster doing a full backup inside windows using acronis software installed in windows. I just want to know if macrium have similar way of speeding up the backup duration."

    Macrium reflect support replied
"Yes, you are able to take a Full Backup of your computer when using the Macrium Reflect Rescue Media. If the Rescue Media has all the appropriate drivers then the speed should be the same as that when taking the image in Windows, any speed differences are likely to be negligible. The main advantage of taking an image through Rescue Media is that no third party software will be running so nothing should interfere with its attempt to take a backup. The disadvantage is because you have to boot the computer into the Rescue Media, you will not be able to do anything else with the computer whilst you are attempting to take a backup. Please see the following article for guidance on how to create Rescue Media. Macrium Boot Question

    Macrium Boot Question

I use Windows 10 and a Macrium recovery program. My BIOS is set where the optical disk for CDs and DVDs are not set to recognize a CD/DVD disc as the first priority to boot from.

What are the steps I should take to make my Macrium Rescue Disk as being first to boot from?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    Macrium: Rescue Media

    a) Yes. I booted on "Sata 3 > UEFI: HL DT ...." It found my Macrium system backups xxx.mrimg I haven't yet completed booting up on it yet (to test it).

Macrium Reflect - Backup Restore - Windows 10 Forums

    b) This tells how to use all Macrium backup and restore procedures. I recommend this to everyone using Macrium. Following dalchina's comment 3 (post no. 4) I have printed out, on paper, part 5 of it (on restore) because Kiri (the author) recommends for safety reasons restoring from within Macrium's Rescue Media rather than from within Windows, and obviously part 5 would not be available at that time if not on paper.

    c) Another advantage of restoring from within Macrium's Rescue Media is that the confusing blue boot window does not appear and the only choice to be made is which of your Macrium backups you want to be restored.

d: dalchina asked "4. What's a Rescue Media Disk? unsure which you mean." I mistyped. I meant Macrium's "Rescue Media" which I have on a DVD.

    e) I wrote in post 3: "5. I thought Macrium was easy to use." Yes it is. I was confused (not now I think) about what was on the my Rescue Media DVD and how to make my way through the geekery of the blue boot list.

    f) However, I have always found boot lists (in a blue background, see post 1) very unfriendly. It would be good if software companies or Microsoft made them more friendly, like having a title for a start: "Macrium Rescue Media", and in the case of the first entry mentioning UEFI and Legacy stuff, something more intelligible to help with choosing the correct option. Not many average users even know what UEFI means, and average users often do have to tackle boot lists when restoring.

Speed of Macrium backup using rescue media vs Macrium in win 10?

Deploy disk image made with macrium to VMWare

You might need for the following a version of VMWare Workstation, as I'm not sure that
you can do it with VMware Player.

    • Create a bootable
      Macrium Rescue Media
      of ISO format
    • Use VMWare to create a virtual machine of the same type, without installing
      an operating system (yet)
    • Set the Rescue ISO as the DVD drive of the VM
    • You will need to assure that the VM can see the backup
    • Boot the VM into Macrium and restore the backup.

Note that missing drivers might cause problems.
Your first action if the VM boots successfully should be to install
    VMWare Tools.
