Windows 10: split screen not Detecting

I have a VGA splitter for my 2 monitors, when i go into settings to try and detect my screens it shows no detection's. I've tried to update drivers but it shows i have the latest update. i'm lost and frustrated cant get my 2 monitors to split. can someone help?

When I go to a split screen view in Windows 10, one of the screens will stop working and/or not respond. For example, if I have a video playing and split screens, the video will stop running but the sound will continue. Another example is that I will
try to use a newly opened screen in split view and the page will not respond. Any suggestions or help?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Remove all USB devices (except for the mouse and keyboard).
  
• 
  Disconnect additional monitors (If you are using a multi-monitor configuration).
  
• 
  While at the black screen, try using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to start Task Manager.
  
• 
  If it becomes visible, try finding LockAppHost.exe on the Details tab and ending the task.
  
• 
  If this resolves the black screen, run SFC, DISM and all apps PowerShell command.
  
• 
  Open command prompt and type the commands below (Type it in Search or Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click on Command Prompt admin).
  

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow
