    srttrail help


    If you get the srttrail error and get stuck, don't worry. Boot into save mode, either through the startup settings page (see image below, #4 or #5) or by other means if you know how, I won't go into that. Your hard drive is most likely ok. However if safe mode doesn't boot, then you may have a bad hard drive. In that case, run chkdsk /r from command prompt. If safe mode DOES boot, run a system restore from within windows safe mode.     We would like to know more information regarding the issue that you're experiencing with your computer. For better assistance, please answer the following questions:

    • Just to verify, are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 due to the error?
    • When did you start to encounter the srt/srttrail problem?
    • How did you update your laptop to Windows 10 previously?

    Hi,

    My laptop had Windows 8 pre-installed when I bought it.

    The problem started last night when I switched my pc on.

    I previously downloaded Windows 10 when it was being rolled out.
