Hard drives listed as SSD drives

Upgraded to Win 10 Pro from Win 7 Pro.

Have 2 Hard drives in Raid 1 set up.

Win 10 lists these drives as SSD drives in System Properties.

How do I change the listing of these drives to HD so I can optimize them?

Well, Samsung offer particularly fast mSata - 951.
PCSPECIALIST - Top Spec Custom PCs & Laptops Built to Order
    - look at the drop-down for mSata for example.

Consider too the lifetime.. and how intensively it might be used.
I'm no expert on this, so someone who's done more research may offer more advice.

I would not worry about the lifetime of SSDs. I own more than half a dozen and the oldest is from 2008. None have ever failed.

    From that:
    Single review: SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive MZ-V5P512BW - Newegg.com
    "
    Pros:
    -Very Fast
    -Small form factor
    -Draws low power

    Cons:
Data migration tool causes system to crash/freeze (here data migration = transfer OS etc from HDD to SSD)
Samsung's driver does not work well with windows 10
Lacks driver/support software for some motherboard.
Bios settings needs to be optimize for NVME

    Other Thoughts:
Make sure to enable pcie 3.0 on your mother board or you will not get full speed."

    - any thoughts?

(I've just ordered a laptop with 1Tb HDD + 256Gb drive using the Samsung 951.. now I'm starting to worry about Win 10 compatibility given that comment..!)

@dalchina - my post is based on my experience this week, certainly not meant to discredit your thoughts. The Pro 950 is a fairly new drive and as with all new items, not all info available covers all situations. Sometimes Google finds more opinions than facts...*Wink

JMO - I'd not worry about the drive and Win 10.

What are you using your PC for? Or what appls you plan to use? Is this a gaming system, video intensive, data intensive system?
What is your expectation of boot time, 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds?

Speed is great but do you have any financial constraint on your build?

Video intensive, data intensive system. hoping for 10 sec or less. No financial constraint on your build, only live life once.

Thanks, SSD is new to me, I've ordered the custom PC as a replacement for a beginning to fail 6 year-old laptop, and thought I'd pick the Samsung. 1 (older) opinion is just that. Sure, other SSD is cheaper, but it's not a vast difference. (£5-£30 max difference for slower SSD than the 256Gb Samsung 951)

Note: 256Gb to 512Gb is a much bigger step cost-wise.

256 > 512 is a costly move. I doubt you could tell the difference in speeds with the human eye.

Check out the Intel 750 SSD. Very interesting but I gave up due to its cost! My wife did not approve this transaction, the new motherboard, and other equipment.

I've read that Intels are tops. Alas, money IS an object for me and I'm left to get the bang for my buck out of Samsung EVO. I think OP's got something to work with though on the m2 Samsung 950 or that Intel.

I think the make matters little. I own a whole collection of SSDs from Intel to Mushkin. I cannot really observe any differences. If any, I like the Mushkins. They are cheap and fast and when you have a problem, they send you a new one.
