Windows 10: SSD Samsung Evo 850 & Samsung Magician RAPID mode

The one thing i have read about but i know it's nothing new is employing a ram disk which supposedly make a huge speed difference .

I have no idea how ,why or even if it's worth it but it sounds good. Seems most do not use one these days however.

 

Here is the best analogy I can come up with: –


Imagine a box full of marbles which you have to empty with your hands. If it's only you and the box has two openings then you can use both hands simultaneously to grab marbles. If you now put four holes in the box it would not speed you up anymore. If you had a friend using both his hands then the four holes would help. Similarly, most operations on the PC do not require more than "four holes= Queue depth of 4". Most Complex games do not even require that many. On the other hand, servers that are being accessed by many computers require many more "holes". The performance test on Samsung magician is the equivalent of measuring the speed of emptying the "box" using 32 holes. I hope that helps
