Windows 10: Start icon not working and Edge icon disapeared

After a driver (I think one related to Intel graphics, but i am not shure) was unsuccesfully installed, I had a BSOD problem, hard restart, kernel error message (unable to reproduce it afterward). Some applications from taskbar partially work (Office, Skype), some not.
I am unable to open the Start menu (but the right click still works). The Edge disapeared, I post from anothe PC.
Restarted a few times, tried to restore to a previous backup of drivers - nothing helps.
Pls suggest me some solution.

My desktop view was no longer functioning when I started my pc. The icons are gone and the tiles on my start menu are there but resized on their own. The right click function does not work on the desktop. Any ideas?

• Have you made any changes to the operating system that might have resulted in this?
• Which is the current version of Windows 10 installed on your device?

Press Windows + R keys from the keyboard, type
winver, and press Enter to know the Windows version installed.

This issue might have occurred due corrupted/ missing system files. Let us try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to sign-out from the current user account, restart the computer, sign in and check with the status of this issue.

This will help you to install the pending updates on your device.

Step 2: I suggest you to run a SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checkeris a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Note: If you are not able to repair some files after performing SFC scan, I suggest you to refer to the point 3 “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to
fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log”. Under the section “Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)” to repair the corrupted files after performing SFC scan.

Step 3: I recommend you to install all the pending updates on your device and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

I've got the exact same issue, it all started after a BSOD as well. None of the solutions I found worked (Powershell command etc). I also can't open windows store, I searched for it in explorer. Also tried creating a new account, which fixed the start menu but windows store still wasn't working.
