Windows 10: Start Menu Icons are All over the Desk top

Hello , My Start Menu Icons are no longer in the Start Menu Button but All Over the Desk Top... On the Desk Top, Where the Short Cuts and Recycle bin are supposed to Be, there are options to show how these Start menu apps are supposed to be Laid Out. along with the Power on and Off Switch..… How do I restore so that all these Icons are hidden back in the Start Menu Button and my Regular Desk top is visible with my regular short cuts Thank You Stephan Hamm

We appreciate your persistent patience n this issue.

At this point, I suggest you to check if the same issue occurs when logged in through a different Local Administrator user account.



Follow the steps:

• Assuming that you are already logged on to your user account in Windows 10, click the Start button.
• From the Start menu, click your name from the top of the left pane.
• From the displayed options click Sign out.
  
• From the login screen, click to the different user account you want to switch to.

However, if you do not have a separate user account, I suggest you to create another administrator user account by referring to the Microsoft article here: Set
up accounts.

desk top shows start up menu

Desk top remains in start menu until app is selected. No theme or icons although it was working at one time. Don't know what caused this.

 

Start menu default internet acces icon screwed?

You generally set that via the Start Menu settings (right-click start menu -> properties).

I had that issues a while ago, and it meant removing it from the Start Menu, and reinstalling my browser to get the icon back, it was very odd.
