    Start Menu not working possible solution

    I have been fighting with the start menu and many of the windows apps not working after leaving the computer for a while. With some of the apps, I could close them and restart. I am using a Laptop with two external monitors. I tried all the fixes I could find out there, but nothing resolved it. e.g. reloading all the apps via powershell, CC Cleaner, Start Menu Diagnostic Tool, deleted and readded my user account, reloaded and updated all drivers....

    In the power and sleep settings, I changes the Screen setting to "Never" turn off. I still am using the sleep option. So far my issue has not reoccurred, so I am guessing it is how the external monitors interact with the laptop.

    :)

  2. Start menu not working

    I found the following article, ran the suggested powershell command and my start menu is working again. Here it is as I found it:
    Go to Start menu button and right click on it. This will open the contextual menu, after which you need to select Command Prompt (Admin). Once Command Prompt is open, go ahead with the following steps.

    • Type and enter: Powershell
    • Type the following: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

    SAME OLD, SAME OLD, START MENU STILL NOT WORKING...DOES ANYBODY HAVE THE SOLUTION????????

    My error message states "Start menu and Cortana aren't working". As a result I'm unable to right click on start as you suggest for step 1 to fix the error. What is the solution for that?

    Start Menu not working possible solution

    Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

    Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
    Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
    Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

    NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
    But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
    What do you think?
